日前在美國加洲舉行第15屆 VES Awards , MPC, Weta Digital 主力製作的《The Jungle Book》成大贏家奪多個獎項 !! 動畫《KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS》 , 電視片集《GAME OF THRONES;Battle of the Bastards》 及電廣告 《John Lewis: Buster the Boxer 》 亦得到多個獎項

AWN 發放有關奧斯卡入圍動畫動畫短片PIXAR 《PIPER》的製作文章 ,PIXAR 開發了 Presto Sculpting Brush 配以 Wacom tablet, 容許 3D artists 直接 在 posed 或un-posed model 上進行細緻的雕塑 .
《PIPER》製作超過三年時間 , 大慨有90位 artists 參與製作 , 主要生產線使用他們自己的 Presto 系統並以 Universal Scene Description (USD)為公共數據格式 , 還使用 Autodesk Maya 及 Mudbox 做 Model, SideFX Houdini 做 FX The Foundry’s Katana 及 Nuke 做 look-dev 及 lighting, 最後使用 RenderMan 輸出
當中技術上的挑戰是製作 feathers, sand, water, 及 foam 等

Animation Workers Reach $100 Million Settlement With Disney in Wage-Fixing Suit
Disney 拋出1億美元作完結與Digital Animators的工資固定訴訟 .
動畫師與Disney, PIXAR , LucasFilms ,及 Two Pic MC (ImageMovers)日前終達成了1億美元的和解訴訟 , 聲稱被告違反反壟斷法(anti-poaching pact lawsuit).
以上公司是該項訴訟中的剩餘最後被告 , 在上月 , 美國聯邦法官初步批准了與DreamWorks Animation達成5000萬美元的和解協議 , 之前與 Sony Imageworks 亦簽訂了1300萬美元的協議 , 還有Blue SkyStudios 簽訂了595萬美元協議 . 所有的款項將被存入一個結算基金 !!
