Autodesk lay off 13% of its workforce, around 1,150 jobs !!

Autodesk 繼上年裁9百多位員工後在今年年尾又向員工開刀,裁撤全球約13%人力,約千人 . CEO Andrew Anagnost 在發表第 3 季業績的同時公布裁員內容 . 據消息人仕透露 , 香港區未受影響, 但台灣方面就未能幸免。

John Lasseter Taking Six-Month Leave from Pixar Amid “Missteps”

Pixar 及 Disney動畫製作室的 CEO , 與及一眾電腦動畫人的偶像 – John Lasseter 突然宣布– 請假半年 , 自稱為「失策」（missteps）負上責任 , 至於是什麼失策 , 根據外國報導(hollywoodreporter.com) 懷擬跟近期荷里活接連爆出的騷擾時件相關 , 行文中 John Lasseter也題及「I especially want to apologize to anyone who has ever been on the receiving end of an unwanted hug or any other gesture they felt crossed the line in any way, shape, or form. No matter how benign my intent, everyone has the right to set their own boundaries and have them respected.」作為兩間最大動畫製作公司的大腦 , 休業半年又會否對新作有影響呢 ?

NVIDIA will no longer offer new subscriptions to the Mental Ray plugins for Maya and 3ds Max, as well as Mental Ray standalone.

NVIDIA 剛在新聞信中公布不再接受新用戶購買.Mental Ray ,即不會再繼續研發MR .. 並將集中於GPU 加速運算 ray tracing 技術研發 , 包括 NVIDIA OptiX , MDL, NVIDIA IndeX 及 NVIDIA Iray 等等!!

~~無論如何我們都花過不少時間在MR身上 ..等過千個慢長的 Render 晚上….. 這次真的要向MR說再見了 !!
