VFX breakdowns from Piper, including fluid, foam and sand simulations (AWN)

AWN 發放有關奧斯卡入圍動畫動畫短片PIXAR 《PIPER》的製作文章 ,PIXAR 開發了 Presto Sculpting Brush 配以 Wacom tablet, 容許 3D artists 直接在 posed 或un-posed model 上進行細緻的雕塑 .

《PIPER》製作超過三年時間 , 大慨有90位 artists 參與製作 , 主要生產線使用他們自己的 Presto 系統並以 Universal Scene Description (USD)為公共數據格式 , 還使用 Autodesk Maya 及 Mudbox 做 Model, SideFX Houdini 做 FX The Foundry’s Katana 及 Nuke 做 look-dev 及 lighting, 最後使用 RenderMan 輸出

當中技術上的挑戰是製作 feathers, sand, water, 及 foam 等
